Thirsk Lodge Barns was Katherine and Nick in March 2024, restored farm buildings in open country north of York with good light inside and a lot of sky outside. Rossington Hall was Anna and Luke that July, a Victorian house near Doncaster with the kind of staircase and stonework that films itself. Anna said afterwards that the finished video was out of this world, which I am still pleased about.
Skipbridge Country Weddings, between York and Harrogate, is the odd one out and I mean that kindly. Vintage buses, a willow arbour for the ceremony, fairy lights in the barn. Hayley and Paul had a humanist ceremony there in July 2021 and tied an actual knot. The Holiday Inn at Brighouse was Laura and Jack in June 2022, a hotel wedding, and the proof that the day is about the people in it and not the architecture.
Grantley Hall, near Ripon, is the grandest venue I have filmed in the county and one of the grandest anywhere.
Yorkshire weddings have an ease to them. People talk to strangers. Speeches run long and nobody minds. The films from here tend to have more laughter in them than most.

I started this because when I got married in 2015, we didn't have a videographer. I wanted to build something I wished had existed for us. Films that hold up years later. A real record of a real day, not a montage of prompted moments.
I handle the consultation, the filming, the edit, the grade, and the delivery. I film a limited number of weddings a year, and I'm personally at every one.

The county is large enough that the shape of the day depends on where you are. In the Dales and around Ripon it is country houses and estates with everything on one site. Around York and Harrogate it is barns and farm venues, often with a church first. In the south of the county it is Victorian halls with grounds.
Travel between church and venue can be long here. Twenty to forty minutes is normal, which makes the car journey a real part of the day rather than a gap in it.
Guest lists run larger than in the south, in my experience. A hundred and twenty to a hundred and sixty is common, and the evening is a proper party.
Many wedding videographers arrive with a shot list. I don't. I arrive early, stay quiet, and pay attention. The film comes from what actually happens. I might offer the occasional quiet prompt when it matters, but I'm not staging moments or running through the same poses as everyone else.
I tend to work with couples based in and around London who want something honest. A real record of a real day. Not a highlight reel built from the same five moments as everyone else's.
I film fifteen weddings a year. That number lets me edit every film personally, respond to every email myself, and still show up fully present on your day. Every frame graded and cut by me. No outsourced editing. No house style.

If your church and venue are a long drive apart, plan something for guests to do at the venue while you are being photographed. Otherwise you arrive to a room that has been waiting forty minutes.
Barn venues around York get warm in July and August with a hundred and fifty people in them. Ask what the venue does about airflow before you set the dancing in there.
The Dales and the Moors are exposed and windy. Outdoor ceremonies need a plan for the celebrant's paperwork and the readings, and the audio is my problem, not yours.
Yorkshire speeches are long. Plan for it in the timeline rather than cutting them short. They are usually the best bit.
